World Association of Children’s Friends Launches Energy Project in Senegal

The World Association of Children’s Friends has launched its Energy of Hope program in Senegal to expand children’s access to energy.

The program will provide over 2,000 children in northern Senegal with solar lamps through a distribution network of kiosks. Meanwhile, the kiosks – which will be located in villages and schools and run by local women – will supply over 10,000 people with goods through a pay-as-you-go service.

The ‘energy kiosks’ will enhance goods distribution across Senegal, create job opportunities for the local population and improve energy access throughout the country.
