Nthato heads African Government Affairs, Market Development & Growth and is the Executive Director for Siemens Energy South Africa Pty Ltd. She is the former Vice President Government Affairs for Middle East & Africa.

She is also a Board Director for the South Africa National Energy Association (SANEA), a non-executive Director of Post Bank SOC Ltd and is the former Chair of the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA). 

Nthato has over 20-year executive experience in public policy management as well as external and government affairs in the oil & gas, power and grid utility, energy technology, energy technology, maritime and urban development sectors. 

Prior to Siemens Energy, Nthato was the Group Executive for Government and Regulatory Affairs at Eskom SOC Ltd where she was instrumental in preparation of the Energy Action Plan to fix loadshedding, establishment of the National Energy Crisis Committee (NECOM) and establishment of National Transmission Company of South Africa. She has also held leadership positions at Shel South Africa, the Presidential Infrastructure Coordination Commission (PICC), the South Africa Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA), the World Bank, the South Africa Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA) and the South Africa Liquid Fuels & Petroleum Charter Council. 

Her qualifications include an MA (UCT), BA (WITS) and certificate in Managing Power Markets in Africa (UCT Graduate School of Business). She completed a leadership development program at INSEAD in March 2025.
