Kabirou Zakari Oumarou

Former Managing Director of Hydrocarbons, Ministry of Petroleum, Republic of the Niger

Kabirou Zakari Oumarou is a petrochemical engineer who has held several positions in Niger's oil and gas sector.

He has served successively as Head of the Refining and Quality Control Department, Director of Pipeline, Refining, and
Petrochemicals at the National Oil Company, and Managing Director of Hydrocarbons at Niger's Ministry of Petroleum.

In this last role, he led significant reforms in the areas of Local Content, the nationalization of key positions, state ownership in oil companies, and petroleum audits. He has notably overseen major projects, including: 

- The construction of the longest continuous pipeline in Africa, 1,950 km pipeline between the far-east of Niger and the Port of SEME in Benin Republic, for the export of Nigerien crude oil; and

- The development of 109 new oil fields on the Agadem block, for a production of 90,000 barrels per day;

He is an accomplished expert in upstream and downstream oil and gas sector, with nearly 15 years of active experience.
