Antoine John Kevil Esther is a distinguished financial services professional with over 25 years of experience across nine countries in Africa and the Indian Ocean. His extensive career highlights his profound understanding and mastery of global finance and strategic management.
Antoine’s educational credentials feature a BSc in Physics and a PGCE from the University of Manchester, an MBA from Durham University Business School, and an LLB in Law from the University of London. He further refined his expertise with a Professional Offshore Postgraduate Diploma in International Tax Planning from Jesus College, Oxford, reflecting his commitment to excellence in international finance.
Currently, Antoine serves as the Group Executive at Trade and Development Bank (TDB), where he is responsible for Central and West Africa. He leads a high-performing coverage team managing relationships in DRC, Burundi, Senegal, and Ghana. Additionally, he holds a directorial role at SeyRe Global Re-insurers. His previous role as Coverage Executive for North East Africa with TDB involved strategic oversight for Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sudan, South Sudan, and Egypt.
Before joining TDB, Antoine was the CEO of Sacos Insurance Group in Seychelles. His career also includes roles as Commercial & Investment Banking Director at Barclays Seychelles, Commercial Banking Director at Barclays Bank of Uganda, and Business Development Director at the Seychelles International Business Authority (now the Seychelles Financial Services Commission).
Antoine has further showcased his leadership through directorial roles on several boards, including the State Bank of Mauritius, Air Seychelles, Seychelles Savings Bank, Seychelles Public Utilities Corporation, Seychelles Institute of Management, Seychelles Bureau of Standards, and Seychelles National Parks Authority. His broad and impactful career underscores his unparalleled expertise and dedication to advancing the financial sector in the region.
