The clinics are structured as interactive advisory sessions, bringing together project developers, engineers, financiers and policymakers to work through live case studies drawn from active developments across the MSGBC basin. The sessions will focus on core project challenges, including offshore development planning and infrastructure integration, gas monetization strategies, LNG structuring, pipeline and export system design, project financing, and regulatory approval pathways.

The initiative is designed to shift discussions from high-level dialogue toward practical, execution-focused outcomes. By applying technical and commercial expertise directly to real projects, the clinics aim to generate actionable solutions that can accelerate timelines, reduce risk and improve bankability.

The discussions will draw on flagship regional developments, including Woodside Energy’s Sangomar oil project and the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG development led by bp and Kosmos Energy, alongside emerging exploration opportunities in Guinea-Conakry and Guinea-Bissau.

Several upcoming projects illustrate the need for this more integrated approach. In Senegal, state-owned Petrosen has completed technical studies for the Yakaar-Teranga gas project with partners including Baker Hughes, Subsea 7 and Turkish Petroleum. Located in the Cayar Offshore Deep basin, the project is estimated to hold around 25 trillion cubic feet of gas and is expected to play a central role in the country’s long-term gas-to-power strategy, with development concepts currently under evaluation ahead of FID.

In Mauritania, the national oil company Société Mauritanienne des Hydrocarbures is seeking a commercial partner for the BirAllah gas project, which is estimated to contain approximately 80 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The scale and complexity of such developments underscore the growing requirement for alignment across technical design, commercial structuring and financing frameworks.
