MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Takes West Africa’s Energy Opportunities to Gulf Investors at ADIPEC

The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power conference team—organized by Energy Capital & Power (ECP) – is bringing West Africa’s gas, power, and renewable prospects to ADIPEC in Abu Dhabi from November 2–5. Targeting Gulf NOCs, financiers, and developers ahead of the December summit in Dakar, the team will pitch high-impact assets, including Senegal’s 25-TCF Yakaar-Teranga gas project and regional green energy initiatives.

Opportunities for Gulf capital span the basin’s upstream gas, power generation and energy infrastructure segments as its member countries move to develop their resources, including Senegal’s Yakaar-Teranga gas project. State oil company Petrosen secured full control of the offshore field in April 2026, with estimated recoverable reserves of 25 trillion cubic feet, and is targeting a final investment decision in 2026. The development is expected to significantly reduce Senegal’s energy subsidy bill and offers a potential entry point for companies with upstream and midstream gas expertise.

Several Gulf companies already hold an established position across the basin. Abu Dhabi-based renewable energy company Masdar has assets in Mauritania and Senegal, part of a $2 billion commitment to African renewable energy through 2030. Dubai-based AMEA Power is developing a 1GW green hydrogen project in Mauritania, and Abu Dhabi Ports has extended its presence into Guinea. The UAE launched its UAE-Africa Gateway initiative in 2025 to mobilize private sector investment in sub-Saharan African projects.

Companies engaged at ADIPEC will be invited to Dakar in December to meet Senegal’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, Petrosen and government delegations from across the basin. Held under the theme Powering Investment, Delivering Prosperity: Executing the Region’s Energy Strategy, MSGBC 2026 gives Gulf investors direct engagement with officials steering the region’s next phase of energy investment.

MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 takes place December 1-3 at the Centre International de Conférences Abdou Diouf in Dakar, under the High Patronage of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
