The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 discussion comes at a pivotal moment as investment flows across Africa’s gas value chain accelerate, driven by rising global demand. According to the GECF 2025 Global Gas Outlook Report, Africa is projected to attract $115 billion in midstream gas investments between 2031 and 2040. Major projects such as Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) in Senegal/Mauritania, Rovuma LNG and Coral Sul in Mozambique position Africa as a key contributor to global gas spending. While first gas production and export achieved at GTA in 2025 positioned Senegal and Mauritania as gas exporters and the two countries joining the GECF as members, the panel represents an ideal platform to highlight trends across the MSGBC region’s rapidly developing gas sector.

Furthermore, with GTA serving as the region’s flagship project, the panel provides a unique opportunity for Technip Energies and Golar LNG - key contributors to the project - to present their strategies for the planned Phase Two and the broader MSGBC gas market. The panel also represents an opportunity for West Africa LNG to provide an update on its gas activities in Guinea.

“Strategic gas monetization is transforming the MSGBC region into a global LNG hub. By combining cross-border collaboration, LNG export expansion and local gas utilization, the basin is unlocking new industrial and power generation opportunities that will attract investment and drive sustainable growth,” states Sandra Jeque, Events and Project Director, Energy Capital & Power.
