bp is progressing the development of Phase two of the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, with a target to complete the project in 2027. With a planned LNG production capacity of 2.5-3 million tons per annum, GTA Phase Two will further consolidate Senegal and Mauritania’s positions as global LNG exporters - building on the first gas and first LNG exports achieved in 2025 following the commissioning of GTA Phase One. As both countries pursue gas-to-power initiatives to strengthen domestic energy security, Phase Two of the GTA project represents a crucial driver for regional stability and industrial growth.

Beyond hydrocarbons, bp is also supporting Mauritania’s energy transition agenda, particularly in green hydrogen and green steel development. Since 2022, the company has been implementing a program to assess the potential for large-scale green hydrogen production in the country. MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 therefore offers a timely platform for bp to share updates on its role in Mauritania’s emerging green hydrogen market and broader energy transition efforts.

“bp’s participation at MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 highlights the event’s role as a premier platform for shaping the region’s energy future. Their presence allows delegates to engage directly with senior leadership, gaining unique insights into operational milestones and investment opportunities across Mauritania and Senegal,” states Sandra Jeque, Events and Project Director, Energy Capital & Power.
