AEICORP Managing Director to Connect African Capital with West African Energy Wave at MSGBC 2026

AEICORP Managing Director to Connect African Capital with West African Energy Wave at MSGBC 2026

Zakaria Dosso, Managing Director of the Africa Energy Investment Corporation (AEICORP), has been confirmed as a speaker at MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026, taking place December 1-3 in Dakar. His participation will bring one of the continent’s leading energy financiers to a basin where major gas developments are creating growing demand for innovative capital solutions, regional partnerships and stronger domestic financing capacity.

Dosso’s participation comes as AEICORP advances initiatives to strengthen Africa’s energy financing architecture, including the operationalization of the Africa Energy Bank (AEB). Established through a partnership between the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization and Afreximbank, the bank is designed to mobilize capital for oil, gas and broader energy projects while supporting energy security and the continent’s energy transition.

Under Dosso’s leadership, AEICORP has focused on developing African-controlled financing mechanisms for energy infrastructure, with the AEB representing one of its most significant institutional initiatives. The $5 billion bank is expected to direct a substantial share of its initial lending toward natural gas, reflecting Africa’s need to monetize its reserves while expanding electricity generation, industrial capacity and regional energy trade. Its planned portfolio includes LNG infrastructure, pipelines, refinery modernization and other midstream projects capable of strengthening connections between producing countries and regional markets.

Dosso has also championed financing models designed to strengthen African participation in major energy developments rather than relying exclusively on international capital. AEICORP has developed financing structures for indigenous companies and smaller energy businesses, helping local operators acquire equipment, scale their operations and participate more effectively in exploration and production supply chains.

The approach extends to strategic natural resources, with AEICORP pursuing opportunities across critical minerals and downstream processing. Its investment strategy includes lithium and cobalt value chains, reflecting a broader effort to retain more economic value from Africa’s natural resources while positioning domestic capital alongside international investment.

This regional mandate is particularly relevant to the MSGBC basin, where Senegal and Mauritania are advancing major gas developments while Guinea-Bissau and The Gambia continue to attract interest in frontier acreage. As projects progress from exploration and appraisal toward infrastructure development and commercialization, access to competitive African financing will be increasingly important to development timelines and regional value creation.

Organized under the theme, “Powering Investment, Delivering Prosperity: Executing the Region’s Energy Strategy,” MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2026 will convene governments, operators and investors from across the region to shape the financing and policy frameworks needed to advance projects of this scale.
