Libya and Eni Forge MoU to Accelerate Energy Transition Advancement

ENi. energy transition

Eni will help Libya accelerate the energy transition and sustainable development of its energy resources through cooperation on reducing routine gas flaring, fugitive emissions and venting as well as on decarbonization of hard-to-abate industries.

The partnership aims to meet the increasing local and export demand for gas while also assessing prospects for renewable energy and implementing energy efficiency measures. By combining their efforts, they strive to enhance both the energy supply and sustainability in the region.

Eni has been operating in Libya since 1959 and as the main gas producer in the north African country, accounted for 80% of the country’s 1.6 billion standard cubic feet per day production capacity in 2022.
