GRIPS Energy and Société des cultures légumières (SCL) have partnered to implement the Large-Scale Solar Power Applications for Agriculture initiative, a pilot program by the International Solar Alliance and the United Nations Development Program.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards leveraging green energy in the African agricultural sector. The solar facility will not only contribute to reduced power bills but also safeguard crops during power outages, enabling local consumption and exports, including to the United Kingdom.

GRIPS Energy has marked its debut in Senegal’s solar power sector with the completion of this groundbreaking project. This achievement comes on the heels of the company’s strategic move to establish an office in Dakar a year ago, driven by its mission to unlock the abundant solar potential of Senegal, also known as the ‘Land of Teranga.’
