Eskom Seeks Acting CEO Following de Ruyter’s Immediate Departure

Eskom. CEO. (1)

De Ruyter’s immediate departure from Eskom comes just as the utility has implemented stage six load shedding nationwide, following the breakdown of eight generation units.

On Sunday February 19, Eskom announced that “stage six will be implemented continuously until further notice,” a measure which is costing the economy over R4 billion a day, according to Alexforbes Chief Economist, Isaah Mhlanga.

De Ruyter announced his resignation from the company in December 2022, with his initial notice period set until March 31, 2023.
